about Kiran

Kiran is an innovative and meticulous comprehensively-trained Pilates equipment and yoga expert who is passionate about the transformative power of mindful movement.  Drawing from her nuanced understanding of human anatomy and the principles of Pilates, Kiran customizes effective, results-oriented workouts for her clients. 

 

Kiran views her athletic approach to Pilates as the ultimate age-defying multivitamin.  Accordingly, sessions are precisely designed as a blend of mindful movement and personal training to encourage both physical and mental vitality.  Through consistent practice, clients can expect to reshape their bodies, fine-tuning problem areas and sculpting long, lean muscles while simultaneously preventing and rehabilitating injuries.

 

Kiran holds an MA from Teachers College of Columbia University, and a BA from Johns Hopkins University.  She completed her first movement training to become a Registered Yoga Teacher under Kim Manfredi of Charm City Yoga (currently Yogaworks).   Soon after, she undertook training in Classical Mat Pilates through Power Pilates. While teaching at the Sheridan School in Washington, DC, Kiran completed her PMA Comprehensive 500 Hour certification under the close mentorship of STOTT Pilates Master Teacher Trainer Timea Presley.  Kiran subsequently trained under celebrity Pilates trainer Laura Wilson, owner of Natural Pilates of Beverly Hills.

Additionally, Kiran is certified in Tabata Metabolic Conditioning and Thai Yoga Therapy.  She has led workshops in Prenatal Pilates, Postnatal Yoga, Yoga & Creative Writing, and Children’s Yoga.  Kiran’s recent continuing education coursework includes Reformer Cardio Jumpboard, Intensive Power Pilates, Optimal Class Programming, and the Physics of Squats & Lunges.  She has completed academic coursework in Nutrition, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, and Human Development through the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. 

 

Kiran has participated in corporate wellness programs for the U.S. House of Representatives, National Geographic Museum, Bain & Company, the Georgetown University Law Center, and Zuckerman Spaeder.  She has trained clients of all ages and abilities-- from babies to octogenarians-- including Oscar-winning actresses, Victoria's Secret models, professional athletes, and political figures.  She has helped countless clients enjoy therapeutic, challenging workouts in the face of debilitating injuries, chronic pain, cancer-related treatment, and neurological disorders.  A sample of her boutique fitness teaching experience includes Rooted Pilates, Fuse Pilates, Yoga del Sol, Yogaworks, Flow Yoga Center, Amoré Learning, Fuel Body Lab, Pilates by Nancy, Natural Pilates of Beverly Hills, and Equinox.

Kiran currently splits her time between Los Angeles, California and Washington, D.C.  As of May 2021, she teaches group classes through Natural Pilates of Beverly Hills, Fuse Pilates (DC), and Equinox (West End/Anthem Row).  Kiran also trains clients privately on state of the art Balanced Body Pilates equipment in Georgetown's East Village.  Please inquire for rates and availability.
